The Energy and Environmental segment engages in the gas and heat supply; maintenance and repair of power generation and other facilities; operation and maintenance of environmental protection and other facilities; design and maintenance of distribution facilities; sale of crude oil and petroleum products; design and supervision of construction of power generation, transmission, and other facilities; generation of wholesale electricity; ownership and charter of LNG carriers; and a provision of electricity usage consultation services.

The Living Environment and Lifestyle-Related segment engages in the leasing and management of real estate, as well as in contracting for advertisements on its utility poles and in/or other media.

The Overseas segment provides consulting services; and engages in the power generation business.

The company was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
